First Day of Legal Methods
I was a little late getting out the door this morning and I went to the wrong building. Not a good start. I looked all over the place and found where every section was meeting except mine. Turned out my section was the only one meeting in another building. I finally found it and walked in late, fairly embarrassed to be the last one. Didn't end up mattering. We just met the professors, sat there for about 5 minutes and left. There were donuts and fruit outside too. I went home for a bit then went to the international relations building or a speech from the new Dean. It wasn't terribly exciting but I didn't expect much either. Then it was time for class, which I fortunately prepared for. I volunteered to speak a few times and hopefully didn't make an ass of myself. I found the topic fairly interesting, whether or not it should be illegal to fraudulently vote under the name of a dead man. I spent my 2 hour break after class frantically reading for my legal writing class at 4 and treking all the way up into Harlem to find a Fleet bank. When I finally got there they said they couldn't take my check until late September so I had to walk back empty handed and the whole trip was a waste. It sucks not having a bank out here. I tried to get my computer configured for the Columbia system in the afternoon but the tech dude wasn't much help. I'll try again tomorrow, time permitting. The evening was spent eating a crappy dinner of peanut butter on tortillas and canned soup. After eating I went to the library and spent an hour and a half briefing my cases for tomorrow. Then I went out to pizza with a friend to try to drown out the memory of my earlier dinner. It's been a long day and I need to get up early to be at class by 9 tomorrow so I'm off to shower and crash. I guess I'll redecorate the bathroom over the weekend, there just wasn't time today.
