Life in Moo Town

  Late Night

I shall now relate yesterday's events, which I was far too tired to blog when I got home last night (this morning). I slept in until 11 yesterday, which was nice. Did some work on moot court and went to the gym with a friend in the afternoon who hadn't been in like a year. She did very well though. She takes ballet so she wasn't out of shape. I got in my 20 minutes on a stairmaster and did a moderate amount of weight and mat work. Got home and did more moot court. Still hadn't eaten yet. Was pretty hungry by about 5. Managed to hold out until 6 and then ordered a massive load of chinese. Used self restraint for about 3 minutes by working rather than eating it 'cause I wasn't done with moot court. Then I caved and I think there was an audible sound like a high powered shop vac as I inhaled fried rice in front of the TV. After recovering from the ensuing food coma it was about 7:30. Got a call from a Barnard friend wanting to go to dinner at this sushi bar. Obviously I was a little stuffed. But I agreed to go along anyway since I'd promised her we'd find time this weekend to catch up and hang out. She was famished when we got there 'cause I needed 30 minutes to make some phone calls and wrap up moot court so she got a huge sushi platter. I was still bloated so I went with just a glass of white zinfandel (not great). The place was called Tomo. We sat at the bar so we could watch the chefs work. Kinda cool to see the beautiful art they do with the sushi. Strangely though we had a good time, it was profoundly depressing. Weird. Totally lost track of the time and neglected to call some downtown friends at 9:30 like I promised. Whoops. After sushi we went for ice cream at Haagendaaz and then I had to head downtown on the subway to meet friends in the village. Got a tad lost finding the place as usual but we all met up and went to one of their apartments to chill. It's nice having a group of friends downtown to hang out with now. Makes it easy to get out of Morningside Heights. The Village is a much more colorful neighborhood. We ended up not going out, we all piled on the bed and ate a ton of junk food while watching "Love Actually". Good film. Stayed up until about 4:30 talking and whatnot and then had to make my way back home on the subway. I was really exhausted and waiting for the trains sucked. They come so infrequently at that hour. Finally got home at 5:15AM and crashed.

Curious? Then read on. If not go watch TV or find some other way to rot your brain :-P
