Birthday Activities
I got up really late yesterday on account of being out until 5AM. Cleaned out the fridge as I waited for my groceries to arrive. I filled 3 trash bags. Some of the stuff had expired in 2001. This confirms my suspicion that it didn't even belong to my roomates but was from previous tenants. My roomates never cleaned out the fridge even once in the 3 years they lived here. It smells like a garbage dump inside now that everything has been tossed. I'll have to bleach it. On a more pleasant note, it was a gorgeous day so I took a ride down to pier 88 on the Hudson and saw the Intrepid (an aircraft carrier). From there I went to the MOMA for an hour. It was better than I expected; I'll have to go back when I have more time to see everything. Normally I don't like modern art but some of the stuff they had on display was rather interesting. From the MOMA on the East Side I went down to Soho to meet up with a friend and we walked to the West Village to eat at John's of Bleeker Street. I heard it was supposed to be the best pizza in NY but I must respectfully disagree. Lombardi's is much better (in spite of its #4 ranking). The pizza at both is made in a wood fired oven and is extremely thin crust with fresh mozarella cheese. Lombardi's was more flavorful though and didn't leave me with cheese breath like John's did.
